A native of Palm Springs, Sheri Saenz joined DAP Health (then known as Desert AIDS Project) in 1998, in the early years of HIV. “I came to D.A.P. at a time when there was a lot of loss. I saw how people with HIV were treated, what they had to endure,” she says, “and I wanted to help our community.”
Saenz received her B.A. in business administration from CSUSB and has earned her certifications in human resources with SHRM and HRCI. With more than 30 years of experience in human resources and business administration, she has worked with our leadership team to help expand the organization. As chief people officer, her responsibilities include strategic planning for human resources, staffing, talent management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, leadership development and training, and participation in organization risk management. She finds working for a nonprofit supporting our valley and serving our community so rewarding.
