Wine lowers inhibitions. It’s the ultimate truth juice! That’s why most toasts focus on topics that honestly matter. To life! To love! To happiness!

And when you say “Cheers” with Perry’s new Two Hour Rule wines, you embrace all of the above.

“A great bottle of wine does more than just fill a glass,” explains Charlie Greener, co-owner of Perry’s Fine Wines & Liquors. “It brings people together. It facilitates the best moments of their year.”

Founded in Provincetown, Massachusetts, in 1934, Perry’s has been pouring joy ever since. “Often the best moments of my time in P-Town would be with a glass of something magical in my hand,” continues Greener.

Greener and his husband, Billy Marshall, share a flair for the fantastic in both of their chosen hometowns. “When Billy and I originally came to P-Town 20 years ago, we completely fell in love with the place and the people. And when we came to Palm Springs two years ago, we really felt the same thing.”

When Greener and Marshall launched a second store in Palm Springs, the results were transcendent. Within a year, a USA Today readers’ poll crowned Perry’s the nation’s best wine shop. We’ll raise a glass to that!

“Both P-Town and Palm Springs have always nurtured this spirit of escapism and pursuit of the good life,” says Greener, “as we’ve always said, with a little wink of mischief. They’re both places where life is simply a little bit more joyful. We’ve just found this extraordinary connection between the two.”

To honor their commitment to community, Perry’s is dedicating their latest wine project, named Two Hour Rule, to DAP Health. “We wanted to create something that reflects both the sophistication of Palm Springs,” says Greener, “but also the ease and the approachability.”

Two bottles of Perry’s Two Hour Rule wine on a silver tray

The Two Hour Rule label represents a duo of dazzling diversity. One is a bright yet earthy 2024 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The other, a refreshing 2025 Sonoma County Colombard/Viognier blend with a “frame of acidity.” Both astound.

Let’s savor Greener’s words as we sip the deeper meaning of the new wine’s name. “The Two Hour Rule, for me, is a pivotal part of Palm Springs history,” he says. “In the mid-20th century, Hollywood film studios required their stars to remain within a two-hour radius of Los Angeles during production… It was this clause in people’s contracts that helped put Palm Springs on the map.”

Guiding our conversation further back in time, Greener continues: “It was worlds apart from the studio pressure. Palm Springs became an escape for the glitterati of Hollywood during that Golden Age. They came for sunshine, privacy, freedom — all the things that happened behind those big, tall ficus hedges.”

Intimate and epic — the ideal metaphor for Perry’s new Two Hour Rule wines. Each sip is personal, and each purchase helps the public good.

“The launch of Two Hour Rule is our way of saying, ‘We’re here. We’re committed. And we’re going to pour everything we can into making this community even better,’” says Greener. “And if I look at organizations that make a community better, I can think of no greater example than DAP Health.”

A dollar from each bottle of Two Hour Rule wines sold will be earmarked to benefit DAP Health. So, you can enjoy a glass while experiencing the buzz of belonging. “Our mission as a business has always been to make the communities in which we operate just better places to live,” beams Greener.

DAP Health CEO David Brinkman agrees. “Partnerships like this are powerful because they meet people where they are,” he says. “Around the table, in community, and in moments of connection. Every bottle sold helps us continue delivering compassionate, inclusive care to those who need it most.”

The feeling is more than mutual, says Greener. “The work they do is utterly, utterly fabulous. And so, it’s just such a huge pleasure for us to play a little part in helping them in their mission. We’re also hopefully driving a lot of awareness to them as an organization.”

Indeed, the Two Hour Rule is a double dose of philanthropy done right. “The beauty of this project is the ability to support the places that we love,” concludes Greener. “Palm Springs is very, very similar to P-town. It became this place where one can relax, chill out, exhale, and really be oneself. That spirit is still there today.”

And it’s a spirit that inspires us on every level. Drink responsibly. Love robustly. Give back joyously. Cheers!
